02.02.2018 – Deutschland-Bangkok-Singapur

Die Verspätung vom Kölner Flughafen holte der Pilot während des Flugs nach Bangkok teilweise wieder ein, indem er schneller als gewöhnlich flog. Das kam mir sehr gelegen, denn so stieg meine Chance den Anschlussflug doch noch zu bekommen.

Our pilot was partly able to catch up with the delay from Cologne airport by speeding up more than usual. That suited me fine as my chances rose to reach my connecting flight.

Trotzdem dauerte dieser Flug fast 10 Stunden, die ich allerdings auf einem der besten Sitze im Flugzeug verbringen durfte. Ich saß am Notausgang und hatte ca. 2 Meter Beinfreiheit! Was für ein Luxus und dass ohne etwas extra dafür bezahlt zu haben.

Still, the flight took almost 10 hours, which I spent on one of the best seats in the plane. I was seated at the emergency exit and had about 2 meters of legroom. This was luxury for free!

Den Anschlussflug von Bangkok nach Singapur bekam ich dann auch tatsächlich problemlos. Ich hatte 3 Stunden Zeit bis zum Abflug des Anschlussflugs.

I did get my connecting flight from Bangkok to Singapore completely problem-free. I even had 3 hours left between flights.

Dies war das perfekte Timing, denn mit weniger Zeitreserve hätte ich das Flugzeug nicht mehr erreicht. / The timing was perfect. I wouldn’t have reached my connecting flight with less time at hand.

In Singapur angekommen, war es bereits mitten in der Nacht des nächsten Tages. Seit jetzt schon über 40 Stunden hatte ich nicht mehr nennenswert geschlafen. Völlig übermüdet erfuhr ich, dass in Singapur so spät in der Nacht keine Züge mehr in die Innenstadt fahren.

I arrived at Singapore the following day in the middle of the night. I hadn’t slept properly for about 40 hours. So I was totally overtired when I found out that there wouldn’t be any more trains into Singapore at this time of the night.

So musste ich mich mit dem Taxi zu einem Hostel fahren lassen. Zum Glück hatten sie dort noch ein Bett für mich frei. / Therefore, I had to take a taxi to a hostel. Fortunately, they had a spare bed for me there.

Bisher wusste ich noch nicht was ein Jetlag überhaupt bedeutet, jetzt erfuhr ich es am eigenen Leib. Obwohl ich so total müde bin, kann ich nicht durchschlafen. Während meiner Zeit in Singapur wachte ich jeden Tag nach nur ein paar Stunden Schlaf wieder auf und lag dann bis zum nächsten Morgen wach. Mein Körper muss sich erst noch an die 6, 5 Stunden Zeitumstellung gewöhnen.

So far, I hadn’t experienced any jetlag but now I found out what it means. I was so tired but I couldn’t sleep all through the night. During my stay at Singapore I woke up every day after only a few hours‘ sleep and then lay awake until the following morning. My body had yet to get used to the 6.5 hours‘ time shilft.

Im Vielvölker-Stadtstaat Singapur hatte ich 3 Tage Aufenthalt. Natürlich nutze ich diese Zeit und schaute mir die gigantische, hochentwickelte Stadt an. / I stayed there for 3 days. Of course I made good use of the time being and had a good look at the highly sophisticated city.

The inner city feels like being in a futuristic Hollywood movie. Everything is perfect, expensive and perfectly organized.The underground runs driverless and every little detail has been perfectly organized and is running smoothly according to the rules.
