11.05.2017 – Indonesien

Am Tag nach meinem Geburtstag verabschiedete ich mich nach einem späten Frühstück und fuhr weiter Richtung Jambi. 

The day after my birthday, I said goodbye to a late breakfast and drove on to Jambi.

Auf der Karte sah Jambi recht groß aus und ich freute mich dort noch mal in die Zivilisation zu kommen und mich in einem eigenen Hotelzimmer zurückziehen zu können. Allerdings lagen weit über 100 km Wegstrecke vor mir und ich wusste, dass es ein langer Tag werden würde.

It looked rather big on my map, so I was looking forward to returning to civilisation again and to being able to seclude myself in my own hotel room. I knew it would be a very long day as I had 100 km ahead of me.

Es war schon dunkel, als ich in Jambi ankam. Die Auswahl an Hotels erschlug mich fast. Ich beschloss deshalb erst einmal die Preise zu vergleichen. Dann machte mich auf den Weg zu dem Hotels, dass ich mir ausgesucht hatte.

It was dark when I got to Jambi. I was nearly smitten by the vast number of hotels. Therefore I decided to compare prices first of all. Then I headed for the hotel I had chosen.

The day after my birthday I said goodbye to my hosts and after a late breakfast, continued my travel in the direction of Jambi.

Suddenly a car stopped next to me. The driver got out and introduced himself as a member of the Warm Showers hosting community.

Da stoppte plötzlich ein Auto neben mir. Der Fahrer stieg aus, und stellte sich als Mitglied der Hosting-Website Warm Showers vor.

Er hatte eine eigene Wohnung für Fahrradreisende. Wow! Ich folgte ihm und bezog die besagte Wohnung.

He owned an appartment just for bicycle travelers.Wow! I followed him and moved into the apartment.
