19.05.2017 – Indonesien

Weiter ging es für mich immer an der Westküste Sumatras entlang in Richtung Insel Java. Meine Warm-Shower Freund Aldrin aus Jambi hatte mich an seine vielen anderen Warm-Shower Freunde, die in ganz Indonesien verteilt sind, weiterempfohlen. An unterschiedlichen Orten lernte ich in den nächsten Tagen viele wunderbare Menschen kennen.

I went all the way along the Sumatra west coast in the direction of the island of Java. My Warm Shower friend Aldrin had recommended me to his numerous other Warm Shower friends who live all over Indonesia. I met so many wonderful people within the days to come.

Im schlimmsten Regen kam ich bei Rina und ihrer Familie in Pinoraya an.

I arrived at Rina’s and her family’s place in Pinoraya during the worst rainfall ever.

Zwei Tage war ich sogar bei einem weiteren Verwandten von Rina, dem Strandbesitzer von Pantai-Laguna Samudra, in Ratu-Samban eingeladen.

I was even invited by a relative of Rina’s who owned a beach at Pantai-Laguna Samudra at Ratu-Samban for two days.

Sein Strand lag nahe einem Surfer-Hotspot und dementsprechend gab es hohe Wellen. Er hatte seinen Strand extra schön dekoriert und verdiente sein Geld mit Hüttenvermietung. Doch ich durfte hier umsonst übernachten.

His beach was situated near a surfers‘ hotspot which means that there were huge big waves. He had his beach decorated very nicely and he earned his money by renting the huts. I was allowed to stay overnight, free of charge.

Dann fuhr ich weiter in Richtung Bandar Lampung.

Ich war schon 100 Kilometer gefahren, als plötzlich kein Dorf mehr kam, indem ich übernachten hätte können. Es fing an zu regnen und zu allem Überfluss war ich mitten in einem sehr bergigen Dschungelgebiet.

Having done 100 km already, suddenly there was no village where I could have stayed over any more. It started to rain and to make matters worse, I was in the middle of a very hilly part of the jungle.

Berghoch ging es nur noch mit mühseligem Schieben. Es war so steil, dass sogar Leute stoppten und mir beim Schieben halfen.

Uphill I had to push my bike laboriously. It was so steep that even people stopped their cars and helped me push. Meanwhile the sun had gone down and I still didn’t know where to stay.

Mittlerweile war die Sonne schon untergegangen und ich hatte noch immer keine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit gefunden.

Fortunately, I met a car driver who introduced himself as being a policeman. He suggested to take me to the nearest town. I was so happy to accept and he took me to Pringsewu, about 100 km away where he dropped me at a hotel.

Zum Glück traf ich einen Autofahrer, der sich mir als Polizist vorstellte. Er schlug mir vor, dass er mich bis zur nächsten Stadt mitnehmen würde. Ich stimmte dankbar zu und er fuhr mich über 100 Kilometer weit bis zu einem Hotel in Pringsewu.
