Um ein Iran Visum zu beantragen benötigt man einen Registriercode. Man muss ihn über eine Internetseite, wie z. B. http://www.iranianvisa.com/ beantragen. Schon bei der Beantragung dieses Codes ist anzugeben, in welchem Konsulat man letztendlich das Visum erhalten möchte. Ich entschied mich für das Konsulat in Trabzon. Dort soll, laut zahlreicher Erfahrungsberichte das Visum besonders rasch ausgestellt werden.

You need a register code in order to apply for a visa in Iran. To get it, you have to look it up on the Internet , e. g. on http://www.iranianvisa.com/. During the registration period you have to specify from which consulate you want to obtain the visa. I decided on the consulate in Trabzon. You are supposed to get it quite fast there, according to many reports.

Bereits am 10. August habe ich in Amasya den Registriercode beantragt. Das müsste eigentlich früh genug sein, da laut der Internetseite die Bearbeitung ca. 7 bis 10 Werktage benötigt. Was ich aber nicht wusste war, dass die Bearbeitungszeit erst anfängt, wenn das Geld da ist. 3 bis 5 Werktage sind außerdem von Nöten bis auch die ausstellende Botschaft den genehmigten Code für das Visum erhält. In meinem Fall verzögerte sich die Bearbeitung zusätzlich, da die elektronischen Übertragung der Pass-Kopien wohl nicht funktioniert hat. Nach einigen Tagen wurde ich deshalb aufgefordert die Kopien per E-Mail nachzureichen.

I applied for the register code in Amasya on August 10. This ought to have been early enough as according to the Internet it takes them about 7 to 10 weekdays for processing. I didn’t know, though, that they only start working after having received the money. Above that it takes 3 to 5 days for the consulate to receive the authorized code for the visa. In my case, it took even longer as the electronic transmission of the passport photocopies didn’t work at all. A couple of days later, I was told to hand in the copies via email.

Auch die Botschaft erhielt den Code nicht wie vorgesehen, sondern musste erst nochmal in Teheran bei der zuständigen Behörde nachfragen, um ihn abermals zugeschickt zu bekommen.

The consulate didn’t get the code in time, either, so they had to contact the competent authority in Teheran in order to have it sent from them again.

Dafür wurde das Visum bei der Botschaft innerhalb eines Tages ausgestellt.

Anyway, it took the consulate only one day to issue the visa.

Trotzdem dauerte die gesamte Prozedur fast einen Monat. Ich kann also nur empfehlen den Registriercode ca. einen Monat vor geplanten Ankunft beim ausgewählten iranischen Konsulat zu beantragen. Eventuell empfiehlt es sich telefonisch bei der Botschaft nachzufragen, ob der Code auch wirklich angekommen ist. Allerdings muss man im Auge behalten, das der Code nur ein Monat nach Ausstellung gültig ist. Deswegen sollte man den Code auch nicht zu früh beantragen.

Nevertheless, it took nearly a month before the whole procedure had been completed. I strongly advise you to apply for the register code at least a month before the scheduled time of your arrival. Contact the Iranian consulate you have chosen, call them some time later in order to find out if they really got the code. Don’t forget that the code is only valid for one month after the date of issuance. That is why you should never apply for it too soon.
