Von Gold-Coast ging es wieder mit dem Fahrrad weiter Richtung Sydney.
Die Ostküste ist oft sehr schön. / From Gold Coast I rode on toward Sydney. The east coast is very beautiful in many places.

Das Hinterland ist hier sehr grün, fast könnte man vergessen dass man in Australien ist, alles sieht beinahe wie in England aus. Allerdings England, mit einem viel wärmerem Klima und mit Palmen. Passenderweise heißt dieser australische Staat ‚New South Wales‘.

The outback there is very green, which nearly makes you forget that you are really in Australia. It all looks nearly like England. The climate being much warmer and there are palm trees, though. This part of the country is called „New South Wales“ which fits the picture.

There is one problem, though, the only road having been constructed like a highway and therefore rather dangerous for cyclists. That’s why I used just any other road that I could ever find.

Manchmal bin ich jedoch bei der Suche nach Alternativen von Google Maps auf unasphaltierte, nur für Allradfahrzeuge geeignete Pfade geschickt worden. / Sometimes, Google Map guided me onto unsealed roads which were actually only meant for all-terrain vehicles.

Natürlich kann so eine Strecke mit meinem 50 kg schweren Gefährt durchaus zur Qual werden. / A route like that can be rather torturous for someone like me who has a bike that weighs about 50 kilos.

One particularly difficult road had fine deep sand on it, in which my tires sank in. So, every single meter of it was hard work for me. I won’t forget an experience like that for a long time.

Campingplätze vermeide ich hier an der Ostküste, sie sind einfach viel zu teuer, deswegen campe ich fast nur wild. / I avoid campsides around here at the east coast as they are way to expensive. That’s why I usually camp wild.
